Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

Between 12:00am-08:30am on 22/12/25 a theft of a vehicle occurred in Beethoven Road, Elstree

Vehicle was parked on drive way and found missing next morning, the has been recovered with a lot of damage, if anything was seen please contact the police using the details below.

This has been sent out to all of Borehamwood and Elstree as this is the second incident in the last few days and it was thought necessary to alert you all of what is happening locally, to try to prevent any further crimes.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
